apology
may i offer my sincerest apoligies for not writing in almost...well...a long time . as happens this time of life, i am busy with work, work, and when i'm not working, i go into work, or hit the gym for some work.
so i will, for your sake and my own, share a story with you: which in fact is more of one of lifes little oddities than a good story.
so i work on a construction yard with a bunch of big burly, smokin', swearin', sweatin' guys. they're, your typical run of the mill, school of hard knocks, 'don't git in ma whey or a'll keel you bowey' type construction guys. but i enjoy the work, and enjoy making fun of them even more.
now communication with these guys comes in two ranges, high and low. high range is when you do something not quite right, like run the forks of the forklift into a truck or something. they yell at you and their voices get real high.
low comes when you ask a question regarding a tool, or where something goes, when break is, or how he got that scar that runs across his face. low consists of grunts, head nods, and on occasion a finger pointing (horizontally for the most part, but sometimes vertically, if they don't know the answer to your question).
so this group of guys don't have the same sense of humor most people seem to; like my grandma, who thinks anytime i say anything its funny.
which is where the point of this little story leads to.
yesterday, at two different points during the day, i had our entire crew rolling. not chuckling, or cracking a smile; the brothers were bent over trying to keep from pissing themselves.
and me, i was about as confused as i could get. what i said wasn't all that funny. yes, it was humorous, but it wasn't anything to blow snot on yourself over.
and in case you were wondering what i said, let me just say they were 'had to be there' jokes. even if i could remember what it was i said, you'd think the guys i work with are a bunch of rednecks, which, in most cases, wouldn't be too far from the truth.
the frustrating part of this whole scenario is that i've been saying the same kind of stupid one liners all month, and these guys hardly even act like a word came out of my mouth.
anyway, this all just goes to prove you can please some of the people some of the time, or you can just keep your mouth shut.

hey don't be too hard on yourself! it's SUMMER! well, actually summer isn't sticking around for long, but nevertheless. and that is cool that your co-workers were laughing at/with you. isn't always refreshing when something random/unexpectedly surprising happens in a good way. i enjoy it. take care, peace out <><
