just for a minute...
the final lesson learned in any life is this: life goes quick.
i doubt that anyone knowing they will soon be leaving this planet won't think about the things that are important. not many people dying say "its finally over, i thought it would never end!"
granted, there are who-knows-how-many movies that portray people wishing they could pass on to the 'next life' because of an illness or they lost their job or girlfriend or something.
but life's quick either way if you ask me.
recently, my life has been cracking out of a depressed shell. nothing was going particularly wrong, life just sucked because that's what happens for a season. in the book of ecclesiastes the Teacher recalls how there is a time for everything, therefore we should not be taken by surprise when life isn't walking down the sunny side of the road.
that said, i sought the counsel of close friends, mentors, and the Word for comfort. amazingly, i was able to find as much joy during my depression with them, as i was when everything in life felt good.
Christ, as i read it, did not hurry through life, trying to get done with school, get to college, get a good job, make some cash, get a new car, buy a nice house and live on to the next dream. He took the time given Him, and used it to touch someone else's life. took time to talk, to grieve, to teach, to scold, to laugh, and enjoy what He had with others while it was given to Him. this was all things, not just the 'precious moments.'
i guess if i truly want to model the life of Christ, i'll have to actually model the life of Christ.
wow, that's profound (note the sarcasm)
hey, go out and enjoy the rain.

didn't the the same book say 'meaningless, meangingless' says the teacher 'everything is meaningless' mayhaps that feeling had something to do with your depression
